Chile

In December, 2000, The Chilean government decided to purchase 10 new Block 50 F-16 fighters.  Production of the first fighter was started in 2004, and delivery was completed in 2007.  In addition to the 10 new aircraft, Chile acquired 18 additional F-16s from the Netherlands making the Chilean Air Force one of the most capable powers in the region.

Defense and civil government customers around the world, including Chile, require fixed-site, mobile, and tactical versions of Lockheed Martin's family of all solid-state, long-range, 3D radars. These radars provide air defense, surveillance, and air traffic control.  Lockheed Martin's partnership with naval customers worldwide on advanced combat systems for submarines and surface ships is attracting new customers in the region.

Lockheed Martin transport aircraft have a long history of serving customers in the Americas.  Chile is a valued C-130 operating partner. Chile also operates Lockheed Martin's venerable P-3 Orion maritime surveillance aircraft.
